Siliguri Branch (EIRC of ICAI) app for iPhone and iPad

In the year 1984 a chapter of ICAI was formed under the Chairmanship of Sri CA.P.C.Maskara with few number of members. Since then there was no turning back : the unflinching confidence and the pride they carried in their heart resulted in the Chapter being converted into a Branch under the Chairmanship of CA. D. K. Banerjee in the year 1990 with a strength of more or less 43 members. The Siliguri Branch of EIRC of ICAI has its own Building ( ICAI Bhawan ) at Teenbatti More, Near over bridge Siliguri - 734005. Today we are around 450 members to bear the torch of this Branch.The great enthusiasm and commitment of the then members helped this Branch to be recognized as an examination center in the year 1998. We started to organize the CA examinations for PE I, PE II and for Final course.

The results at each level have been very encouraging and satisfactory. Today we are proud to say that several of our students have emerged as Toppers with their names appearing frequently in Merit Lists of CPT , IPCC & Final Examinations in All India Level. The Branch also organizes Annual Students Elocution and Quiz contest which motivates students to appear in public and present their views. The Siliguri Branch of EICASA was formed in the year 2009. The Branch has a fully equipped Computer lab where IT Training for Students is conducted. We are also having a well equipped library for the students as well as for the members.

The Branch has been holding teleconferences, seminars, CPE programs on various topics as a part of its regular activities to keep ourselves updated with recent developments in the fields of Taxation, Audit, corporate Law etc. The Institute has started a Post qualification course on Information System Audit ( ISA ) for the members. Training & Examination for the Course are held at Siliguri itself. Other Post Qualification Courses on DIRM, WTO have also been successfully undertaken by members . The Certificate Course on Concurrent Audit of Banks has also been completed by several of the Branch members.

The number of membership is growing with a faster pace and keeping that in mind we have already constructed modern & state of art Seminar Halls at at 1st & 2nd Floors of the ICAI Bhawan , Teenbatti more , Siliguri so as to serve the members in a better way. In future we will try to install a video conferencing facility to develop a network with as many branches as possible. A new Branch Building at Kawakhali , Silguri is also in pipeline for which the Land has already been allotted by the SJDA.

In the year 2013-14 Siliguri Branch of EIRC & Siliguri Branch of EICASA (under Small Branch Category) has bagged the Best Branch Award by ICAI, New Delhi . Siliguri Branch of EIRC has also bagged the Best Branch Award & Siliguri Branch of EICASA has bagged the Highly Commendable Branch by EIRC, Kolkata for 2013-14. In past also Siliguri Branch has been awarded the Best Branch of ICAI Award by EIRC in all category and the Highly Commendable branch by ICAI, New Delhi in small category branches.

The first batch of GMCS Classes was organized at Siliguri in October, 2009. We have now already conducted over 10 Batches of GMCS , 20 Batches of Orientation Program & 60 Batches of IT Training. The Siliguri Branch successfully organized the National Convention of CA Students thrice at Siliguri in 2009 , 2012 & 2013.

We believe that with the excellent teamwork and harmonious relationship with our members we will be able to achieve the goal. We take tremendous pride in being the members of Siliguri Branch of EIRC of ICAI.
